"I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation."
Martin Luther King Jr. knew his speech was about to make history. If he thought otherwise he would not have started his speech with the quote above. "A leader does not doubt for one moment the capacity of the people he is leading" Martin Luther King Jr. believed in himself, he believed in the people he was speaking to, he believed in change and freedom. Leadership: lead.er.ship- noun- The action of leading a group of people or organization. This speech in many ways is the definition of leadership. Martin Luther King Jr. stood before all those people, brave, strong, and determined. He lead all those people to freedom, to stand in front of all them and give a speech, risking his life to give the hope that everyone else will have the opportunity to live free and happy. He was hopeful for the possibilities of a new kind of life. The Finis Origine Pendent- "the end depends on the beginning" He wanted change, he went in knowing he was about to make history and he was about to make a change. This beginning lead to a whole new life for segregation. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech was so effective because he believed in it. He believed in the words he was speaking, he believed in all the people he was speaking it to. In the end, he believed in the change.
